Now that you're certified, it's time to concentrate on maintaining your CISSP credentials.

CISSP holders maintain their certification, administered by (ISC)², by earning 120 CPEs within 3 years of getting certified (minimum of 20 CPEs/year). This ensures that the CISSP certificate holder stays current with new information security practices and technologies.

CPE Credits (Continuing Professional Education credits) are needed for professionals that hold certifications or licenses in particular industries. Once a course is completed, the professional is provided with a certificate, which shows the format, title and area of the education, as well as the number of hours studied. One hour of professional education is equivalent to one credit. Professionals are required to earn CPE credits to show that they are knowledgeable about core topics, as well as developments in their industry.
